Description: Fire damage repair (see below notes) and additional work scope. additional scope: new framing sistered with existing framing at south wall. +++notes from parent permit 13-174949-fd: 2 story sfr with exposure fire to south side and extension to attic. scrape and seal all fire and smoke damaged framing not removed by demolition. double full length or replace at least 4 charred 2x4 24"o.c. rafters on west side and any cut by pfb in fire suppression. replace damaged rafter tails (approx.12") by lapping back at minimum 1 to 2 ratio. replace damaged roof sheathing. double or replace framing found to be charred when siding removed. nail replacement sheathing with 8d at 6" edges and 12" field. fire block all opened walls and ceilings per code. window replacements to be minimum u-0.35, with 1 escape window per bedroom; opening to meet 5.7 sf requirement or be no reduction from original. insulate opened 2x4 exterior walls with r15 and entire flat attic with r49. provide smoke and co detectors to code. replace heat/smoke/water damaged wiring and devices and correct such installation deficiencies as inaccessible attic j-boxes. exterior portion of existing -0- clearance fireplace triple wall vent, installed under permit, may be disassembled and reassembled, if necessary, to allow re-sheathing and siding of south exterior. mechanical, electrical, & plumbing permits to beobtained separately
