Description: Construct concrete stairs on rear of house 21 sq. ft. call 301-258-6338 to schedule the following inspections: footings /stair pour #2000 final #2030 review comments -a minimum 36-inch high guardrail is required if stairs are 30 inches or more above grade. guardrails shall withstand a 200-lb. load. openings in guardrails shall not exceed 4 inches. -stairs shall have a maximum 8-inch rise and minimum 9-inch tread. riser heights and tread depths should be of equal dimensions within a run of stairs. -handrail/guardrail combination at stairs shall be 34 inches in height, measured vertically above the nose of each tread. a graspable handrail shall be provided on one side of stairs. -stairs with three or more risers require handrails, the required handrail height shall be between 30 and 38 inches measured vertically from the nose of each tread. -ornamental rails shall not create a ladder effect. -provide an artificial light source to illuminate stairs, treads and landing. approved as noted on plans here and on plans.
