Description: 4/21/11, received complaint of high grass at house located at 1011 colony drive. a check of the fulton county tax assessor's website indicated that the owner was christopher mora. i visited the property, observed the violation, and left a hang tag at the mailbox, requesting that the grass be cut as soon as possible. 4/29/11, received a second complaint from a neighbor regarding the property. i was told at that time that mr. mora lost the house in a foreclosure, and that the house had been sold. i was also told that greg kurtz from power realty handled the sale. i contacted greg kurtz, who verified that he represented the buyer of the property. i requested that he contact his client to have the grass cut. he agreed to do so, and the grass was cut approximately two weeks later. i did not inquire as to the name of his client. 6/22/11, after seeing high grass at the property while on routine patrol, i left a phone message for greg kurtz to have grass cut again. 7/8/11, i re-inpsected the property, and since the grass had not been cut, i posted a notice of violation at the front door of the property for high grass as required by section 107.3 of the city's property maintenance code. as a courtesy, i sent the information from the notice of violation to greg kurtz via e-mail. the deadline for compliance was 7/13. the same day, i received two e-mails from greg kurtz, the first one acknowledging the receipt of my e-mail, and the second informing me that the owner's wife had been notified as of 4:30pm. 7/20/11, i re-inspected the property and found that the grass had not been cut. again, pursuant to section 107.3 of the city's property maintenance code, i posted a summons to appear at the front door of the property. as a courtesy, i sent a copy to greg kurtz via e-mail. greg acknowledged reciept of the e-mail, apologized for the delay, and promised to pass along the the information to the owner. 7/25/11, received a voice mail from a neighbor, thanking me for my assistance in getting the grass cut. later that day, i verified that the grass had been cut and that the property was in compliance.
